| Exquisite piece by the great master Antonio Pineda. This is likely a type of "transitional" design that Antonio did while he attempted to find his own, unique niche as a jewelry designer. The piece has elements of the more traditional Taxco designs and shows the influence of Valentin. However, some of the later harmonious modernist aesthetics of Antonio are already visible in this piece. Although hallmarks may not be "transitional" the design may very well be. Sometimes successful designs that appeal to the public were made for longer periods of time based on obvious commercial reasons. This unique moonstone necklace is 17" long and 3/4" wide.
