Spanish Colonial NECKLACE GOLD and CORAL Rosary
This extraordinary antique necklace was made in the Philippines probably in the earlier part of the 19th Century. The coral is finely polished into elongated thin beads. The detailed gold work of the necklace is called TAMBOURINE style and it is characteristic of the Spanish Colonial period at the Philippines. Much of the jewelry made in the Philippines was exported to other colonies like Mexico and South America as well as to Spain. This necklace is 26 inches in length plus 2 additional inches of the dangling cross pendant. This is a very rare find. COLLECTOR QUALITY
