SALVADOR TERAN BRASS AND TILE Ashtray/Plate
A gorgeous piece by the famous and talented artist Salvador Vaca Teran . A cousin of the Castillo brothers from Taller de Los Castillo, Salvador was also an apprentice at the Taller de Las Delicias owned by William Spratling. Salvador was distinguished from a very early age by his creativity and his artistic talent. When he became an independent artist he set up shop in Mexico City. His brass and tile pieces as well as his jewelry are valued by discriminating collectors that appreciate his unique and bold approach to design. This piece is in excellent condition and has absolutely no damage or repairs. I do not believe this piece was ever used as an ashtray since it does not have any tobacco smell or damage. It is 18 cm (7“) in diameter and 4 cm (1 1/2”) high. COLLECTOR QUALITY
