This is one exceptional piece made by Carlos Avila in Mexico City. The piece is pre 1948. Meticulously crafted this excellent bracelet will surely be a favorite for any collector. The figurals are probably on the Neo Aztec style. The small links appear Toltec and the large links are a reminiscent of the Aztec Calendar motives. Comfortable and with great presence. 1-1/2" wide and 7" wearable length. No damage, repairs or problems with this piece. Nice firm closure at clasp. COLLEC ...click for details

Wonderful LA VIOLETA cuff from the earlier part of the 20th C. La Violeta was a silver shop in downtown Mexico City at the turn of the 20th century. Sometimes these necklaces are called "milagro necklaces" due to the fact that some have charms known as milagros. This particular neckla ...click for details

A large and impressive bracelet made in Mexico City as judged by the specific repoussage technique. These masquettes became fashionable as part of the Modernist movement in Mexico and were considered Neo Aztec. They were actually inspired by the contemporaneous excavations of Teotihuacan near Mexico City. Clearly there is nothing Aztec about the Teotihuacan culture that flourished about 1000 years before the Aztec. When the Aztec arrived to the Valley of Mexico, Teotihuacan was a deserted C ...click for details

A rare and unique Los Castillo clamper bracelet. This bracelet is as gorgeous as it photographs and as well made as all Los Castillo pieces. This is an early piece and it is hallmarked with the linear block typeface they used originally. The bracelet appears to have the Margot design influence of the period. Closes tight and adapts to most arms due to the spring hinge. It is 2 inches wide on the front and one inch wide in the back. 60g of weight. COLLECTOR QUALITY
