A unique find, this necklace was crafted using Imperial Mayan Jade beads dating from the Classic Mayan period ~300 CE. These beads were used by the nobility because the dark green brought jade was very scarce and more valuable than gold. Jade was the most precious possession in Pre Columbian Meso America.
