Lovely mexican earrings from Oaxaca. This design is known as MONOS (bows). Clearly of Victorian inspiration, the style has been used in Oaxacan jewelry for a long time. These earrings are likely from the first half of the twentieth century. Quality of craftsmanship and gorgeous design. Lovely large vintage mexican gold and filigree earrings with fasceted jet stone. Jet is a form of fossilized wood that has a bright black color. These earrings were probably made in the city of Iguala in the estate of Guerrero. They have aback hoop and are for pierced ears. No visible damage repairs. 2g (0.07oz); 1 X4.8 cm (2/5" X 1 4/5"). This pendant is a large and very unique collectors piece. A reliquary/locket/hair keeper. It is composed in sterling silver, natural pearls and glass beads.
