Fabulous and elegant design by Antonio Pineda. This is unique necklace with large hand-wrought beads made in the style of pre-columbian Miztec style. Essentially a string of silver is wrapped around to form a hollow sphere. A splendid necklaces results from the combination of these large beads and the velvet that is used to string them The velvet on the necklace is 23 inches long. The beads are 2/3" in diameter. COLLECTOR QUALITY.

The necklace is quite a piece. The central medallion is 5 inches wide (at its widest point) and 4 inches long (counting the little pendants). The linear length is 18 inches. The side "straps" are 1 1/2" wide. The necklace has the eagle mark 129 assigned to MATL . To our knowledge, the presence of the eagle mark is a further assurance of age and authenticity. Fabulous early Los Castillo necklace with seven large carnelian cabochons. Each of the seven large links measures 1 1/4" wide and 1 1/4" long. Cabochons are 3/4" long. This belt was made in a smaller version and some variations of this wide large version. The belt is in excellent condition and is quite formidable.
