This pre-Columbian design of an eagle is a very early piece by Rafael Melendez. This design is probably inspired on the illustration of the Aztec Codices such as the Mendocino codex used by many of the Taxco Masters for inspiration. This is a very early piece and it is marked silver. It is possibly silver 980. The pin weight is 15g (0.5 oz); and measures 4.5 cm high and 4.5 cm (1 3/4") wide. COLLECTOR QUALITY
