This is THE fabulous centipede/caterpillar pin by Reveriano and Maria Castillo who signed their pieces under the trade name REVERI. This fabulous brooch has a large amethyst cabochon piece serving as the head of the bug. The pin is made so that is is moveable. The pin anchors both behind the head and at the tip of the tail. So the shape of the caterpillar is decided every time the piece is worn. A fun and fabulous piece probably made in the 1960s. This pin is in excellent condition and sho ...click for details

*Note:
We had previously described this piece as "Early-1930s". This was an error on our part as we had missed the eagle mark. The necklace bears the eagle 129 of Matl. Also, one of our clients with great expertise on MATL, pointed out that the engraved hallmarking on Matilde's pieces began in 1950. We now estimate the date this piece between 1950 and 1970. We apologize for the inaccuracy of our previous description.

A unique set of Los Castillo early pins. These large pieces were made as fur clips to be worn on fur stoles and coats so fashionable in the 1940s. Mink, chinchilla and fox furs were used as a social status indicator. The dream of every woman but worn only by the very wealthy, furs were adorned with clips such as this set. Clips were used since regular pins were difficult to use on fur and could damage the precious garments. The set depicts a type of heron found in the shores of the Texcoco ...click for details

This is gorgeous Aguilar ring with and oval exquisite lapis cabochon. The ring is an early Aguilar piece as judged by its pre-eagle hallmark and the use of Sterling instead of his characteristic silver 940 adopted later at Taller Borda. The ring is a size 14-15! and shows sings of use but not abuse. It can be easily resized by a qualified jeweler. The lapis on the ring shows an apparent fissure, however this is a mineral deposit vein. The ring weighs 22 g (0.8oz) and the cabochon is 2.8 cm ...click for details
