A fabulous piece of Taxco vintage silver, this necklace is an early piece by LOS CASTILLO. A heavy piece the necklace has multiple pendants in the shape of a flattened sphere similar to cascabels present in pre-coloumbian pieces. These pendants are solid silver. This necklace is very elegant yet suitable for informal wear. The piece is in good condition and shows no damage or repairs. 99g (3.5 oz); 36 cm (14 1/4") and the chain is 1 cm ((3/4") wide. This magnificent bracelet was designed by Spratling after he purchase an amethyst carved in the shape of a frog from the Monte Alban excavations in Mexico. He was so fascinated by the piece that he decided to use the same design for the creation of the links on this bracelet. A gorgeous and heavy bracelet with square links adorned with diagonal copper "ribbons". Each link is separated with a row of three sterling spheres. The bracelet corresponds with Spratling's first design period and it is an early piece made with silver 980.
