After Margot de Taxco closed her shop in the 1970s, many of the Maestros working in her shop continued to make several of her designs. Hilario Lopez, without a doubt was a one of the most talented silversmiths of the time. He continued making this popular CORNFLOWER design with Margot's blessing. This necklace is truly and outstanding modern piece of Mexican jewelry. The Azurite-Malachite beads are extremely large. The central largest bead is a full inch in diameter! The necklace is simply fabulous. A newer piece marked TS-30 and an elegant PC on the reverse side of the clasp. The length of this necklace is 25 inches.

This is a very interesting and powerful design by Felipe Martinez, who later produced under PIEDRA Y PLATA. The links of this set are made in sterling silver but the leaves are covered with copper. This MIXED METAL technique was particularly achieved in Mid-Century Taxco by the great artisans of the time.
